Workshop with huber.huber. Storytelling (excl. admission)

Sa 21.03.2026 14:00 – 16:00

In Timo Ullmann's artistic workshop for adults, you will get to know the artist and his performative working methods. In his current series Screen Pieces, Ullmann explores the materiality of screens – he manipulates LCD displays, transforms digital surfaces into sculptural objects and explores the boundary between physical and virtual reality. His works Screenshare and Chandelier_Simulacrum (with René Müller) are currently on display in the exhibition Mehr Licht at the Kunstmuseum Solothurn. In the studio, you will experiment with your own smartphone as a camera, light source and artistic material. At various stations, you can try out green screen techniques, RGB light portraits, optical filters, defective displays and thermal imaging technology. You will learn how everyday devices can be turned into artistic tools – just like in Ullmann's own practice. A visit to the exhibition is not part of the workshop. The workshops for adults with artists are a project sponsored by the patrons of the Aargauer Kunsthaus. With Timo Ullmann, artist, and Sibilla Caflisch, educator. Please bring your own smartphone (fully charged). Please note: This ticket does not grant admission to the museum. Please purchase a ticket online or directly at the museum ticket office.
