Pauline Julier. and so on, a single universe (Catalogue)
Pauline Julier. and so on, a single universe (Catalogue)
Pauline Julier's (*1981, Geneva) multimedia works take us through the geological ages of the earth and into space. At the interface between documentary and fiction, the artist takes us on a dizzying journey through space and time. In doing so, she interweaves different stories and mixes natural disasters with the paradigm shifts of the Anthropocene.
Designed by Julia Born, winner of the Swiss Grandprix Design, and conceived as a work of art in its own right, the publication offers a comprehensive insight into Pauline Julier's artistic thinking and work through interviews, essays and numerous illustrations. In conversation with biologist and science theorist Donna Haraway and author and anthropologist Nastassja Martin, the book addresses the mutual affinity between art and science, the relationship between humans and other living beings and the constructed nature of images. This publication was supported by the Sophie and Karl Binding Foundation. It is part of the Binding Sélection d'Artistes funding program.
Honoured with the «Most Beautiful Swiss Books 2024» award
