The centerpiece of this artist‘s book is Dominic Michel’s collection of found, bought and stolen glasses that he has subsequently painted green even on the inside. Arranged as still lifes in earlier exhibitions, the vessels are now staged anew in thirty-six photographs. An essay by the Canadian critic, artist and psychiatrist Jeanne Randolph (b. 1943) accompanies the work. Straddling reality and fiction, Randolph‘s narrative makes reference to Michel's work and transcends it.
Dominic Michel (b. 1987 in Klingnau, Canton of Aargau) lives and works in Zürich. His collaboration with Jeanne Randolph for this publication is based on a regular exchange which has previously led to joint projects.
