Tan Fiona. Rapids, 2010 (Edition)

The photo edition Rapids by Fiona Tan was published to accompany her first comprehensive exhibition in Switzerland in 2010 at the Aargauer Kunsthaus. It shows a still from the two-part video installation Rise and Fall, which gave the exhibition its title. In it, as in other works, the artist addresses the relationship of the individual to the world with its memories and internalised images. The view of the foaming water is a metaphor for reflection on life, its flow and the cycle between becoming and passing away.
