Swiss Pop Art (Catalogue)

Pop Art is one of the most important art movements of the 20th century. This book is the first comprehensive documentation of Pop Art in Switzerland and sheds light on the phenomenon beyond the field of visual arts. Extensive pictorial material and scientifically sound text contributions by Yasmin Afshar, Karoliina Elmer, Bernadette Fülscher, Kornelia Imesch, Dora Imhof, Renate Menzi, Franz Müller, Samuel Mumenthaler, Astrid Näff, Raphaela Reinmann, Madeleine Schuppli, Philipp Stamm and Katrin Weilenmann provide an overview of the period, which was eventful in political, social and artistic terms. Works by Livio Bernasconi, Samuel Buri, Emilienne Farny, Franz Gertsch, Rosina Kuhn, Urs Lüthi, Max Matter, Markus Raetz and Peter Stämpfli, among others, are on display. The book will be published on the occasion of the exhibition opening, but beyond the scope and duration of the exhibition, it represents a standard work on Swiss Pop Art.
